If school closes due to exceptional or emergency circumstances, Wynne students may be given the opportunity to work from home on AMI assignments rather than making up a day at the end of the school year. Teachers will create AMI day assignments for their students. Assignments may be provided in the form of hard copy packets, or digitally through Google Classroom depending on the school your child attends. Student attendance on the AMI Day will be determined by his/her completion of the assigned day’s work. Students will have three (3) days following an AMI day to complete required work. In most cases, teachers will be available by email throughout the AMI day to answer student or parent questions about the assignments.
District administrators will decide if a cancelled school day will count as an AMI day. AMI days will be used only in the case of an excessive amount of days being missed due to unusual circumstances. If AMI days are not used, parents and guardians will be notified about adjustments to the school calendar. When a school closing is announced, the district will communicate that the day will be an AMI day through radio, television, phone messaging, Facebook and the school website.
Please understand that nothing can replace the time spent in the classroom under the direction of a teacher. Contact your child’s principal if you have questions about AMI days.
