Notice for Destruction of Records
According to state and federal guidelines, outdated special education records may be destroyed after providing parents with appropriate notice. For students with inactive special education records maintained for the past seven years at Wynne Public Schools, parents or adult students are invited to review and pick up the records. The records will be available at the Special Education Supervisor's office in the Wynne Schools Administrative Building at 750 Bridges. The records that are not picked up will be destroyed after November 21.
THESE RECORDS ARE NOT YOUR CHILD’S PERMANENT SCHOOL RECORDS. THEY ARE ONLY OUTDATED SPECIAL EDUCATION DUE PROCESS FORMS AND RECORDS.
NOTE: THIS NOTICE ALLOWS LETTERS WHICH HAVE ALREADY BEEN MAILED TO PARENTS OF STUDENTS WITH OUTDATED RECORDS.
If the student is 18 years of age or older, all rights pertaining to the records are conferred to the student. The student would need to be the person to pick up the records. An exception to this would be court-approved parental legal guardianship of an adult child.
